FLUOR TIGHTS AND UMBRELLAS

 

In this window project I not only use the colour
contrast aswell it was important to use a material
contrast.

We live in a world where we are consuming cheap
products made in Asia together with luxury products
made in Europe ateliers, where the handmade and the
quality are the higher point.

Therefore why not mixt all together, is possible to find 

the beauty in a window display, where the quality
products are together with the most cheap and lower
objects in this world.

BLACK AND WHITE // Window

Window shop project I made for the oldest shop in 

town, to be precise 200 years old shop, a warm and

friendly haberdashery. The pictures show the work

I made for the background.

TIGHTS WINDOW

This is a window shop project made in a very old shop,
more or less 200 years the shop has been open, attending
costumers. Soon will close, and really I don't know what
is gona happen, if somebody is gona take and remodelate,
or will change completly the business and the meaning of
what is now. Really a pity, the shop has what I think a real
vitrines window, everytime more difficult to find on the
streets of the moderns city. They are 3 boxes, completly
close, 3 walls, 1 floor, 1 cealin, and the window glass.
You have to access from a door.
I'm very proud and happy to had the opportunity to make
this work, I hope people will enjoy and surprise how I like.

OWL ON THE TREE

Some weeks ago I had the job to produce some furniture
and a mural for a new babies shop in a small town near
Barcelona.
I was asked to do a mural of a tree. They gave me all the
freedom to create and produce as the way I wanted.
I made the tree with felt fabric and cotton rope.
Julio, the painter leaved me a perfect orange and green
wall, then I applied the rope over the wall making a contour
of the tree, clouds and the green garden.
The main protagonist a part of the tree is the big eyes Owl, He
is the smart and special one in the mural. All made with felt
a part of the eyes that I used a wooden curtain rings.

WINDOW Intervention // Barcelona

Some weeks ago I was commissioned to design and make
an special window for a new openning shop.
The idea was to take the attention of the pedestrians.
Before the shop was a fruit store and the new owners with
some art and design help converted the shop in a new born
babies store.
We thought in a strong, direct and funny phrase to make
people stop on the window shop, making then curious about
the new openning.
In spanish the verb "parir" means to give a birth but aswell
is a swearword. So, we use the verb in a double meaning.
The tape window installation was on for the time that last the
shop decoration, for the oppening day I changed the phrase
for a new one that says that we have allready given birth.

MARKET PLACE // cornellà

Last month I was commissioned to intervene a market
stall. At that moment the place its empty but once was
a butcher. The market people wanted me to make
something nice in the empty stall.
In the market are about 40 stalls, I ask each one to
give me a bag or paper where his business name was
writte. I cuted them and put in a round gold paper, which
is used in bakeries. For the instalation I held them with
decorative strips.
The idea was to put all the stall's name in the instalation so
all the market stalls were advertised and to have representation.
At the end look like medals.

MASSIAS SHOWROOM

I got the job to execute the autumm-winter showroom
for a fashion accessories shop. The showroom was set
up in a white walls gallery.
As usual in my works I didn't buy any material for making
the interior instead I used recicled cotton fabric from an
old clothes factory.
One part of the instalation was made with fabric strips of
diferents colours at the walls, and at the end of the room
I created a close round form, kind of haima made with
woollen scarfs, hats, gloves and green fluorescent light.

MINIBLACK ART PROJECT

This work I made it for a Cava company in Spain, they wanted

me to exhibit his product in three diferents fashion clothes shops
in barcelona.

I used furniture found it in the street, chairs,

small nigth table, etc I cut them and put together

again but in another way.

Aswell I recolled objects from others decorations

in my atelier and used them for the sculptures.

I paint them, in black, because of the advertisment

work. I would preference to keep them in natural.

FACES

Like allways I didn't have to much money for making this

work. From diferents kinds of magazines I took all this face

pictures, I cuted them and put it together as a collage. It

was a lot of hours work, cuting somehow a bit boring but the

rest was interesant, to try to make a good combination

between the diferents faces.

For the floor I used the left paper from the cutting faces

and a thick plastic on top.

For this work I used magazines, thick transparent plastic.

ORANGE POTATOES

This picture shows my first window work that

I was paid. I meet the deutsch leather designer

Monika Harbort, she has a beautiful shop in

the neighborhood of Gracia in barcelona. She

gave me the oportunity to be myself and

follow my inspiration.

I painted potatoes in fluor orange and I used

some natural rope to hold them.

In 3 weeks more or less I had to take them

away, because she didn't like the odour.

TAPING

This is a display I have made for a optician's shop in barcelona.

I used a base of cardboard and I apply on a black-yellow and

a yellow-green colour tape. I wanted to make a form close to

the idea of comic. Aswell I covered used recipients from xampu,

cleaning, beverage, etc.

This work came to me because in this times I was doing
a lot of window shop and one of the shop brand's ask me
to make a stand for the german Bread and butter fair in
barcelona. The spanish brand wanted to show the new
T-shirts collection.
I designed the wood structure and made the furniture for
my own and I covered all with the two colours tape (red-white).

The good thing about this taping work its that everytime I put
one line of tape on the wood the result was different than the
last one (because it was more or less stretched).
In the end I created an optical effect, that was so cool to see.

For showing the T-shirts I made a sistem with a thin wood.
To executed the stand I used wood, tape and a kind of plastic
fabric for the seats. The total measurement 300x200x160

RELIGION

This work I made it for shop in barcelona,,

I created a religious atmosphere with a lot of

postcards of differents virgin laying them out

in a cross, aswell I used a big picture of one

of the virgins in one of the windows. For the

background and the flour I put red fabric.

And for creating a great ambient I used red

church candles with special light.

DROPPING

I had the job to make window shops design having

just a bit of money for expend in materials.

I had to be really really creative!

All this window its made by old-second hand furniture

find it in the streets of barcelona. I painted all in white

on it, after I bought primary colours to put on using the

dropping technique. For the floor I used plastic white

sheet.

I went to the Encants market in the end of the day to

recolect broken objects from the floor: books, vinyls,

lamp, biscuits box and toys; I painted them in green.

The result its gaudy and works good with the shop.

FOOD

I was working for a shop in barcelona called

Tomate, that means tomatoe in spanish.

My first window for them I found suitable to

use food and make a kind of supermarket, behind

the manequis, I found pallets and fruit wood boxes

on the street and I use them as a furniture, aswell

red plastic sheet for covering the floor.

In the other window I made curtains of soup packet's

and mustard tubes.

During the time I was working for a shops I made
some small design like models using new materials and
small objects. The design above I used a foam base
painted in white, red wood strips and small scale cars.
The second design its made with straws, the ones used
for drinking, I made a geometric composition fixed with
hot silicone and painted with fluor spray.
Last design is made with painted foam, artificial plants,
wire, door hinge.
