BIN // street Intervention

I had the opportunity to participate in a street recycling

Art festival in Sant Cugat, near Barcelona.

10 artist work in a one day event, making and doing our

art in live, with a wrapping, packets allready used, 

I constructed and sculpture, the idea is that all the waste 

soap and others house packets where falling from a bin,

I use the contrast between the urban space and the colours

objects of the sculpture, all in plastic.

The Bin is hanged up in a pergola, making the visual

sensation of all the packets falling down, but without 

touch the urban floor.

The intention is to make surprise, and contrast, and humor

to the pedestrians and visitors.

LETTERS IN THE SKY // Roof Intervention

I had the job to create seven letters for a window shop. 

I made the skeleton with carton found on the Streets.The

idea was to make a big visible letters, with volum and 

body. I covered them with different sorts of fabric, as very

offten in my work, fabric give me the colour and texture to

express myselft in the way I like.

I went up to amazing roof in barcelona, high and close to

Montjuïc mountain. The contrast between small barcelona

and the Street carton letters is what makes me fly. Remember

me music notes suspending in the Sky blue Sky.

PARROT IN MY WINDOW

Parrot

It came to my hands a carton white parrot, I customize him

with some black and green tape. As I've been using in my

previous work in Istanbul (MAPS OF ISTANBUL) I used

the city landscape where I live as a background,, beeing part

of the total work.

In this case the Parrot is suspended in the window clothesline.

Creating the effect that the Parrot is like a music note. I use

the contrast between the images of the city landscape and the

carton Parrot but as well I play with the sizes, somehow trying

to make a game to people's eye.

FRIED EGGS // street Intervention

While preparing some eggs for a window oppening, I realized
how good they looked just on the Street floor.
I was committed to do an outside Intervention for a new babies
shop. I made the eggs with white carton base and for the yolk
I used yellow felt fabric.
Ready to eat,,,, only missing some chips.

OWL ON THE TREE

Some weeks ago I had the job to produce some furniture
and a mural for a new babies shop in a small town near
Barcelona.
I was asked to do a mural of a tree. They gave me all the
freedom to create and produce as the way I wanted.
I made the tree with felt fabric and cotton rope.
Julio, the painter leaved me a perfect orange and green
wall, then I applied the rope over the wall making a contour
of the tree, clouds and the green garden.
The main protagonist a part of the tree is the big eyes Owl, He
is the smart and special one in the mural. All made with felt
a part of the eyes that I used a wooden curtain rings.

WINDOW Intervention // Barcelona

Some weeks ago I was commissioned to design and make
an special window for a new openning shop.
The idea was to take the attention of the pedestrians.
Before the shop was a fruit store and the new owners with
some art and design help converted the shop in a new born
babies store.
We thought in a strong, direct and funny phrase to make
people stop on the window shop, making then curious about
the new openning.
In spanish the verb "parir" means to give a birth but aswell
is a swearword. So, we use the verb in a double meaning.
The tape window installation was on for the time that last the
shop decoration, for the oppening day I changed the phrase
for a new one that says that we have allready given birth.

After collecting pictures from 2000' street tendencies
magazines I could create a photo collage that represents
how I see myself, what move me, what I like and what
makes me feel, green and desertic landsdcapes, woman
carrying a suitcase in a lost city, last century train station,
sky and cables from undiscovered city, misterious covered
face woman, on a bench outside ferry, a pregnat's woman
paint, Sunset view from train window while crossing city
bridge and woman listening to music.
These are some of the impressions I carry with me lately.

SUPER EYE // Tape

This is the Eye project, made with adhesive colour
tape: black, red and green. In the middle, the Iris,
I used a metal pan lid that I found abandoned in
the kitchen.
The Eye is in one of my house white walls and is
about 4 meters long and 2 meters high.
I like this days to go back to Tape,,,,I use it and
work with a lot of freedom and improvisation.
I express myself directly and quickly without
worrying too much about errors because with
the adhesive I can edit and change in the same
time I have the feeling and the idea in my head
and my hands.

Time for changes, real changes...
I wanted to put part of my soul in this amazing
and great born of people. Something really nice it's
happening in the heart and brain of many people
in spain.
Energy flow in the veins. Lot of creativity and good
intention looking for better times.
In Plaça Catalunya, barcelona was improvised walls
full of hanging notes and papers which were the people's
wishes. I did my own contribution with three drawings.

WHERE IS ART IN BCN?

Walking the streets of gotico in barcelona I realize
how much art can be found in the walls, specially in
the old wood doors. Recently I started asking myself
a question: why is so difficult to find art,,, a mean,,,
good art in Barcelona. I go to museums and cultural
centers and off course galleries...... and I find nothing
special, nothing with real soul. I find much more
interesting, funny and good stuff in the narrow streets
of the fashion Barcelona.

I made this street intervention because I want to
emphasize the Work of anonymous artists, that do
art because they feel and really like and enjoy......
and most important: expecting NO MONEY return.
I use tape colour to mark the interest art points.

STRIPS // Drapart festival barcelona

My last street intervention STRIPS speaks about
the forgotten old objects and materials, about our
memory and how far we can remember the feeling,
the touch and the smell of somethings that never will
come back again.
I' ve been inside the old jerseys factory where I took
the fabric peaces, was so touching and amazing, some
fabric machines still left with the material still attached
to the machine, aswell I found so many sample books
and other amazing things. There was no artificial light,
only the light coming from the windows, a large round
spinning machine was in the middle of the huge and
beautifull grey room. I won't forget the sensation to be
there. Now its a forgotten place, but I could feel all the
fabric and material sorrounding me as if they were
completly alive.

MARKET PLACE // cornellà

street market



Last month I was commissioned to intervene a market
stall. At that moment the place its empty but once was
a butcher. The market people wanted me to make
something nice in the empty stall.
In the market are about 40 stalls, I ask each one to
give me a bag or paper where his business name was
writte. I cuted them and put in a round gold paper, which
is used in bakeries. For the instalation I held them with
decorative strips.
The idea was to put all the stall's name in the instalation so
all the market stalls were advertised and to have representation.
At the end look like medals.
