BIN // street Intervention

I had the opportunity to participate in a street recycling
Art festival in Sant Cugat, near Barcelona.
10 artist work in a one day event, making and doing our
art in live, with a wrapping, packets allready used,
I constructed and sculpture, the idea is that all the waste
soap and others house packets where falling from a bin,
I use the contrast between the urban space and the colours
objects of the sculpture, all in plastic.
The Bin is hanged up in a pergola, making the visual
sensation of all the packets falling down, but without
touch the urban floor.
The intention is to make surprise, and contrast, and humor
to the pedestrians and visitors.

PLASTIC LIDS // Water tower Istanbul

Tuzla

Plastic Lids in a water tower is an intervention
created for a Harun's paradise, a bohemian
Hotel house in Tuzla, Istanbul.
I found so many plastic lids in the place and
I decide to use them in a way that they seem
to be falling from the sky.
The best location in the top of the old water
tower outside in the Hotel's garden.

OIL CONTAINER // Tuzla, Istanbul

During my stage in Kampile Sanat (art-camp) I
created a couple of works, the one I show now is
the Oil container that is an object-sculpture made
from an old oil container and wood chips.
This work talks about forms and textures, how our
eye and brain get used to determinate shapes. Play
ing with this specific vision and breaking the laws,
looking for news ways of seeing and approaching
to others possibles realities.

PARROT IN MY WINDOW

Parrot

It came to my hands a carton white parrot, I customize him
with some black and green tape. As I've been using in my
previous work in Istanbul (MAPS OF ISTANBUL) I used
the city landscape where I live as a background,, beeing part
of the total work.
In this case the Parrot is suspended in the window clothesline.
Creating the effect that the Parrot is like a music note. I use
the contrast between the images of the city landscape and the
carton Parrot but as well I play with the sizes, somehow trying
to make a game to people's eye.

TARLABASI // street Art Istanbul

tarlabasi

Since Im in Istanbul I've been collecting from
the street posters of clubs and events of the city.
After collecting them I manipulated using media
as collage and painting. I used free magazines from
the city and plastics bags from shops.

The main idea of the Tarlabasi project is to take the
posters from the busy and famous streets of the city
and convert them in a new art work, afterwads find
a new location, new place, which would never be
hung
.
I walked around Tarlabasi and I realized was a poor
area and somehow dangerous with drugs and prostitution
problems. But for me makes much more sense to make
a street intervention in this area, out and away of nice
modern-fashion-cool city. The walls are alive and
unspoiled from publicity and others.

MAPS OF ISTANBUL

Istanbul

Istanbul

Istanbul

Im since one month in a new warm city, discovering
other views and ways of living....
where I live has 7 floors and a big highway in front is
crossing the city in the european side.
I got inspired by contructing a map of this huge place,
the sea and watter sorround the city, I took some
time to understand the city shape.
I collected plastics shop bags, flyers and catalogs
from museums in Istanbul to created this map-structure.
The base is made of found cardboard.
The collage-structure is suspended in the air, having in the
bottom view of the city, which is building a super hotel.

MISS SUNSHINE

sunshine

I created the personage of Miss Sunshine some time
ago, using fabric scraps I had found in an old fruit
box. After that I left it somewhere in my work place.
A couple of weeks ago I when up to my ateliers roof
and there came to me the idea of making pictures of her.
I used my everyday landscape to frame the sculpture.
What I really like here its the contrast between the
funny-curious-sympathic personage and the natural
scenery.

STRIPS // Drapart festival barcelona

strips

My last street intervention STRIPS speaks about
the forgotten old objects and materials, about our
memory and how far we can remember the feeling,
the touch and the smell of somethings that never will
come back again.
I' ve been inside the old jerseys factory where I took
the fabric peaces, was so touching and amazing, some
fabric machines still left with the material still attached
to the machine, aswell I found so many sample books
and other amazing things. There was no artificial light,
only the light coming from the windows, a large round
spinning machine was in the middle of the huge and
beautifull grey room. I won't forget the sensation to be
there. Now its a forgotten place, but I could feel all the
fabric and material sorrounding me as if they were
completly alive.

MARKET PLACE // cornellà

street market

Last month I was commissioned to intervene a market
stall. At that moment the place its empty but once was
a butcher. The market people wanted me to make
something nice in the empty stall.
In the market are about 40 stalls, I ask each one to
give me a bag or paper where his business name was
writte. I cuted them and put in a round gold paper, which
is used in bakeries. For the instalation I held them with
decorative strips.
The idea was to put all the stall's name in the instalation so
all the market stalls were advertised and to have representation.
At the end look like medals.

MASSIAS SHOWROOM

dkdkdkdkd

I got the job to execute the autumm-winter showroom
for a fashion accessories shop. The showroom was set
up in a white walls gallery.
As usual in my works I didn't buy any material for making
the interior instead I used recicled cotton fabric from an
old clothes factory.
One part of the instalation was made with fabric strips of
diferents colours at the walls, and at the end of the room
I created a close round form, kind of haima made with
woollen scarfs, hats, gloves and green fluorescent light.

ATELIER

This is a special place for me, inspiration and memories
come true everytime Im there.
I found a really old and worn-out wood pieces, I fixed
them together and painted on, I used acrilic, wattercolour,
wax and rope.
I set up the painting in one of the working old tables I have
from my grandfather.

PAPELITOS // bulevar tanger

I made this work in a huge terrace in tanger, morocco.
I recieved a present from a friend, Ana, who gave me
paper colour notes, she was using them for writting ideas,
I put them in the no-writted side and I created a kind of
net, what I wanted obtain its to put colour in a amazing
white view of the city. Aswell giving volum and making
the sculpture strong at the sight but very light in the touch.

BIRCHIFA // children workshop

AREJ is an association located in a neighborhood
named Birchifa in the city of Tanger, Morocco. Those
nice people are trying to teach and give some good
moment to the children of this poor area.
I visited them and I really liked the idea to make
workshop there, and have the oportunity to show to
them my way of working and vision of art and life.
I proposed them to go outside in a open ground in front
of the association and collect things/garbage from the floor.
After that, we separate the good materials and objects
and we cleaned them. Next steep, inside the association,
we divided in groups and we start working.
Using the silicon gun and wire, they created a really nice
stuff. Have a look to the picks.
